Headteacher Letter – End of Year 2020-21
July 2021
Dear parents / guardians,
We now approach the end of what has been an unprecedented year in school. The year 11 and 13 final assessments are now complete and we find ourselves in the fortunate position of being able to celebrate with Year 11 and 13 in their leavers’ events. Recognising the achievements of our students during their time at our school is always a highlight. Equally we look forward to their next steps in life and the range of opportunities that lie before them.
As with everything, when one things ends another begins as we are now planning for and look forward to meeting our new Year 7 in September.
School Leavers
We have a number of colleagues leaving at the end of this academic year as they move to promotions, different parts of the country and new adventures. These are:
· Samantha White | Teacher of MFL/Head of Year |
· Eirini Birmpili | Teacher of Science |
· Okan Hoplar | Teacher of Computing |
· Stephanie Swan | Teacher of Business |
· Heather O’Neill | Teacher of Food & Art |
· Fatima El Meeyuf | KS3 Coordinator of Geography |
· Elizabeth Priestley | Teacher of MFL |
· Bethany Price | 2 i/c History |
· Saeed Deen | Teacher of Maths |
On behalf of the whole school community, I would like to thank them for their contribution to school life and wish each of them continued happiness and success.I have inserted below guidance from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets guidance on school attendance for September 2021:
- Families who have travelled abroad, or are planning to travel during the summer period, need to ensure that children are ready to return to school for the beginning of the autumn term.
- This includes any children who have travelled to red list countries, so families do need to consider whether they can manage any financial obligation caused by the requirement to hotel quarantine, as financial hardship can no longer be accepted as a reason not to be at school. Any quarantine/isolation that needs to be done will need to be completed by the beginning of the autumn term. Children on leave in term time will no longer be offered remote learning, absence will be unauthorised and parents will be liable to Penalty Notice fines.
- If children are out of school for longer than twenty days, schools will inform parents that if the child is not back in school by the twenty-first day the child may be removed from roll and lose their school place.
