8th September 2021

Dear parent/carer,

You will be aware that the Covid-19 vaccination programme will be rolled out in schools across the country for all students aged 12 to 15 years.

We have received various communications from Tower Hamlets and Vaccination UK regarding the programme in our school. Tower Hamlets and Vaccination UK will administer this process. We as a school will facilitate this process.

The vaccination is entirely consensual, and we will be sending e-consent forms to you in due course, on behalf of Vaccination UK, should you want your child to receive their vaccination in school. We are very aware this is an emotive issue and we in no way take a political, medical or moral standpoint.

We as a school are not in a position to be able to advise you on the vaccination itself.

Any questions parents may have regarding the vaccination can be raised in one of the webinars hosted by Tower Hamlets (details shared below). In addition, a booklet shared by Vaccination UK is attached to this email.

A date for the first injection in school has been confirmed for Wednesday 10th November 2021.

Information from the Tower Hamlets Healthy Children & Families Team – Public Health:

There are a number of webinars being hosted over the coming weeks by Tower Hamlets Council, with NHS partners where possible. These webinars are for parents and carers to hear more about and to ask any questions that they may have about the Covid-19 vaccination programme for students aged 12 to 15 years.
