Our GCSE Year 10 and 11 drama students participated in a workshop run in school by The Old Vic Theatre Company on Thursday 10th March.

The aim of the workshop was to share knowledge on theatre directing, in preparation for a visit to the. Old Vic theatre to see the production ‘A Number.’

The students excelled and rose to the challenge by directing each other in short scenes focusing on  the use of space, tension and setting, inspired by scripted text.

Rafi in Year 10 said

‘The old Vic workshop made me think about the directors vision and playwright intention and how it can change when you use of the space in different ways.’

Boudicca in year 11 said

‘I really enjoyed directing the scenes today and adding in moments of tension which changed theatrical dynamics of a scene.’
