Monday 7th June 2021

Dear parents / guardians,

I trust you and your family are well and have been able to enjoy the good weather during the break. I also hope the students have been looking forward to their return to school and the start of the final half of the summer term where we sincerely hope we will be able to see a move back to “normal.”

Congratulations to Year 11 and Year 13

The end of last half term saw the conclusion to the overwhelming majority of assessments for GCSE, A Level, Vocational and BTEC awards.  Thank you for your incredible support for our students and the staff who have been working with them in such an unprecedented approach to qualification awards. The marking and moderating required for the Teacher Assessed Grades that will be taking the place of GCSE and A Level results this summer has been a colossal task and I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff for giving up so much of their time for doing this. In addition, our students have been magnificent in coping with these changes and have worked on all assessments with positivity and purpose.  Students in Year 11 are returning to school this week with a greater focus on non-assessed learning and transitional activities to prepare them for the next stage in their education or employment.

Water Bottles

As the weather finally seems to be improving can I please remind parents that students are advised to bring in their own water bottles that can be filled up at the various water fountains around the school. In addition, we expect students to uphold our high standards in the wearing of uniform and that that no other jacket or top can be worn as an alternative to the school blazer.

Thank you as always for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,
