10th March 2021

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for your support during the past week. We have been working hard at school to introduce the the lateral flow test programme as well as preparing for Teacher Assessed Grades for students who would have been taking exams this summer. Students are back in the building and we are all returning to a form of normality and routine.

Attendance

I would like to remind all parents that school attendance is mandatory and that our normal rules and procedures around attendance and punctuality apply. Students benefit tremendously from being around their peers and learning together. The only exception to this is if your child is clinically extremely vulnerable and has a shielding letter, in which case the Head of Year should have been informed.

Please remember that your child must self-isolate and not attend school if they:

Please note that the lateral flow test programme at school is for people with no symptoms only. If your child develops symptoms at any time, such as a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss or change to their sense of smell or taste, they must immediately self-isolate, and you will need to book a test by calling 119 or visiting https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirustest.

Uniform

We wear our new uniform with pride as members of an outstanding school community. We are a team working together and our uniform celebrates our identity. As such, we expect all students to wear the uniform in full. All students have now had their blazers updated with the new school name, which they must wear.  As with the winter term, students will need to wear their PE kits for the whole day on days where they have PE.

Later this week I will be writing to the parents of students who would have been taking examinations this summer to outline the Teacher Assessed Grades process.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Woods
