According to Government guidelines all students should attend school unless they have been asked to remain home. At present, students in year 7 &8 have been asked to isolate. Students in years 9-13 with a sibling in year 7 or 8 are not required to self-isolate unless the student in year 7 or 8 has Covid-19 symptoms and has tested positive, in which case you must inform the school immediately. We understand that parents may be worried and we want to reassure you that we are taking all the safety precautions at school to keep your children safe.

It is vital for all children to attend school where possible to minimise falling behind.  The school has been implementing Covid-19 safe practices as per Government guidance. Face coverings are now mandatory in communal areas of the school for staff and students at all times. Students may choose to wear face coverings in class.

The UK Chief Medical Officers have issued a statement which states there is a very low rate of severe disease in children from Covid-19 and they are confident that there is clear evidence from many studies that the great majority of children and teenagers who catch it have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all.

Ms Anderson (Medical Needs Co-Ordinator) is available on  Extension 198 for further guidance or if you want to discuss your child’s medical condition.
