Year 7 Reverse Advent Calendar Project

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we welcome year 7 back from their period of isolation I am keen for them to be involved in contributing towards our local community and thinking about how we can help and support each other during difficult times. With this in mind year 7 will be working on a Reverse Advent Calendar Project within their form groups.

Students will be invited to donate an item during the period of advent to be given to the Food Bank at St Dunstan’s and All Saints Church, Stepney. A collection box will be available in their form group registration each morning and every student will be allocated 1 day on which to bring in their item.

The project will run between Monday 30th November – Tuesday 15th December. When the boxes are full, representatives from each form will be taken to the church to drop off our offerings.

The project is entirely voluntary and students who are not able to bring an item will be invited to write a Christmas message of hope and goodwill to be included in the box.

The Food Bank is currently assisting some 60 families in the local area and are especially in need of the below items, if you are able to donate please be assured it will be hugely welcomed. Further information on the Church and its work can be found here http://www.stdunstanstepney.com/food-bank.html.

I thank you in advance for your help with our community project.

Year 7 have shown themselves to be a very kind and thoughtful group of students and I am certain it will be a success. If you have any questions about the scheme please do get in touch.

In the meantime, you may continue to check our website and social media feeds @StepneyAS for year group updates and further information.

Yours sincerely,
