Alternative provision for SEN students
ASDAN (Award Scheme Accreditation Network)
The ASDAN qualifications offered are the Personal and Social Development and the Employability Awards. They develop Personal, Social and Health Education (PHSE) and Citizenship Skills which help prepare the candidate for working life as well as helping the students develop their literacy and numeracy skills. The topics studies could include Community, Home Management, Personal Care and Preparation for Working Life.
Learners who achieve the employability award should be in a better position to ‘sell themselves’ to potential employers by demonstrating a range of skills and qualities that employers look for.
A portfolio of evidence is produced throughout the course and is then assessed and moderated.
Students who are selected for ASDAN will be withdrawn from specific subject lessons. They will still be able to choose two option subjects.
Students will be offered places on the ASDAN course by Ms Bell. They cannot choose to do ASDAN until they have discussed it with him.
