Headteacher's Letter 14.05.2026

Dear families,

It has been an extremely busy and productive time at Stepney All Saints in recent weeks, with students and staff continuing to demonstrate the commitment, resilience and high standards that define our school community.

We were also pleased to welcome inspectors to the school for our recent SIAMS inspection. The report will be shared with families as soon as it is officially published and, like our recent Ofsted report, it promises to be a further endorsement of the excellent work taking place across our school community each day.

Examinations

The hard work, resilience and commitment shown by both students and staff are never more evident than at the beginning of the Year 11 and Year 13 examination season. Across the school, students have been attending intervention sessions, completing revision programmes and working closely with their teachers in preparation for these important examinations.

We would also like to thank parents and carers for their continued support during this demanding time. Simple routines such as ensuring students arrive punctually, are well rested and maintain positive study habits can have a significant impact on both wellbeing and performance.

School is open from 7.30am until 5.45pm, Monday to Friday, to provide students with additional opportunities to revise and study in a focused environment. In addition, revision sessions will be taking place over the half-term break, with further details being shared in the coming days.

We wish all of our Year 11 and Year 13 students the very best of luck over these final weeks. Continue to work hard, remain focused and believe in your ability to succeed.

Rewards

Congratulations to Yusuf Islam in Year 8, who is currently top of the whole-school rewards points chart with an impressive 3,022 points. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects Yusuf’s consistent hard work, positive attitude and commitment to school life.

In second and third place are Aayan Rahman (Year 9) and Safwaan Haque (Year 9), who are both demonstrating excellent commitment to their studies and to the All Saints Way on a daily basis. Their positive approach, strong attendance and dedication to learning have rightly been recognised by staff across the school.

Leading their year groups are Khalid Yaseen in Year 7, Kazi Shakib in Year 10 and Sabrina Said in Year 11. These students have shown effort, resilience and maturity throughout the term and should be extremely proud of their achievements.

Reward points recognise far more than academic success alone. They celebrate students who consistently demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality, positive behaviour, kindness, leadership and a commitment to contributing positively to our school community.

We are incredibly proud of all of these students. They are a real credit to the school and excellent role models for others. Keep up the fantastic work and continue striving for excellence in all that you do!

Student ID Cards Reminder

All students are expected to have their school ID card with them every day. ID cards are an essential part of school life and are used for a range of important purposes, including purchasing food, registering for lunch, borrowing resources and identifying students around the school site.

ID cards are also required in specific situations such as examinations, where students may need to present their card for identification purposes.

Please ensure your child brings their ID card to school each day and keeps it in good condition. Replacement ID cards can be purchased via ParentPay if a card has been lost or damaged.

Uniform

We expect our students to uphold high standards in the wearing of uniform. There is no room for personal interpretation as the list of acceptable items is clear, however I would like to highlight the following points:

  • students attend school in their PE kit only if they have a PE lesson that day. The kit is the royal blue tracksuit with the blazer worn on top. Shorts are not to be worn during the day. Students can use the changing rooms at the start of their PE lesson if they need to wear any different items.
  • no other jacket or top can be worn as an alternative to the school blazer. Hoodies are not acceptable and should not be worn in school.

Students who come to school dressed incorrectly may, if there is no adequate reason, be sent home to change or parents contacted to bring in the correct items. Sixth form students must also comply to the uniform policy. A reminder of the full uniform list for all years can be found on the school website HERE

Water Bottles

As the weather becomes warmer, can I please remind families that students are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle to school each day. Water bottles can be refilled at the various water fountains located around the school site throughout the day.

Staying hydrated is important for students’ health, wellbeing and concentration, particularly during periods of warm weather and examinations. We would appreciate your support in ensuring students come to school prepared each day with a suitable water bottle.
