Students at Stepney All Saints School unite to raise funds for Jamaica following recent hurricane
In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and community spirit, the students and staff of Stepney All Saints School recently came together for an evening of celebration, culture and fundraising in support of those impacted by the recent hurricane in Jamaica.
Drawing inspiration from the school’s ethos of service and global awareness, the evening showcased the talents and dedication of pupils across departments and raised over £950+ for relief efforts.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all staff and students for putting on such a wonderful evening of celebration and life for Jamaica. The event truly showcased the unique spirit and culture of our school one that cares deeply for our community and for others. The energy in the hall was fantastic, and the performances were outstanding.
Cross-department collaboration was at the heart of the night, with the Food Technology, Drama and Music departments, alongside staff volunteers, joining forces to create an extraordinary event. The concert-style fundraiser brought together students from all years, united by a shared desire to make a difference.
Our students expressed a strong desire to raise funds for Jamaica after the recent hurricane, said Vicky Jech, Assistant Headteacher, They came up with the idea themselves, worked hard on the performances and the event organisation, and the result was an evening that combined celebration, culture and meaningful action.
The £950+ raised + a minibus full of food stuffs and toiletries, will be used to support relief efforts in Jamaica, helping communities recover from the devastating impact of the hurricane. The school’s wider mission, to serve the local community and reach out globally was clearly on display.
