Year 12 Dragons' Den by Samosa Media

In March 2025, Samosa Media  delivered a series of Dragons’ Den-style workshops for Year 12 BTEC Business Studies students at Stepney All Saints. The workshops were led by Samosa Media's Education Officer, Natalie Marshall, and aimed to enhance students' confidence, creativity, and public speaking skills, while challenging them to develop and pitch their own business idea.
Over six exciting weeks, a group of 14 BTEC students stepped out of their comfort zones and into the world of confidence-building, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. The workshops began with lively icebreakers and a screening of Levi Roots’ iconic Dragons’ Den pitch, which is an inspiring example that got students thinking about what turns a business idea into a winning one.
The workshops focused on the key ingredients of a powerful pitch which were creativity, confidence, and teamwork. As the weeks progressed, so did their skills. Through team-building activities, creative exercises and public speaking challenges, students learned how to collaborate, problem-solve, and take feedback on board.
The final session ended with a talk from guest speaker Anwar Akthar, Director of Samosa Media, who shared his journey to success in the arts and cultural sector. Anwar reminded students of the importance of knowing who you are, embracing your identity, and not limiting your future.

SAMOSA Media for SASS Sixth Form Students

This Question Time was a result of workshops run by Samosa Media for Stepney All Saints Sixth Form students through Winter 2024. The workshops support the students’ academic development, by providing a platform to explore politics, history, journalism, arts and culture. The films are also made for use by other UK schools, to provide more diversity in the curriculum. Filmed and produced by Victor Rios. Samosa Media’s work is supported by The Portal Trust and The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
