Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the end of a very busy half term I am pleased to share with you some updates and key information  for when year 7 return after the break.

Enrichment

From Monday 2nd November, we will be recommencing our enrichment programme at Stepney All Saints. The importance of activities beyond academic work must not be underestimated. Extracurricular activities complement our students’ studies to develop as well-rounded individuals.

Activities for year 7 will take place within their bubble and zone and the full programme will be advertised after the half term break. Please encourage students to participate at home.

Homework Club

As part of the extra-curricular programme there will be a computer room homework club available for year 7 students on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This is primarily aimed at students who have difficulty accessing technology and internet at home but is open to everyone, numbers permitting. Full details will be advertised on the school website shortly.

Google Classroom Parental Monitoring

It is important that all students are able to log into their Google Classrooms to be able to access key information, pre learning tasks and homework. If you have not done so already, you will soon receive an invite to access their Google Classrooms in order to monitor work set and completed. Please ensure that school has an up to date email address for this purpose.

SIMS Parent View App

Parents are encouraged to make full use of the SIMS Parent View App. This allows parents to view attendance data, behaviour, homework reminders, school reports and information about extra-curricular activities easily via a smart phone, tablet or PC. Further information about this service can be found on the school website. https://www.stepneyallsaints.school/for-parents/useful-school-links/parent-view-app/

Celebrating achievement

Year 7 students have been working hard this half term to earn merits, commendations and SASS stars towards their form group totals. I am pleased to announce that the winning form are 7.4 with a total of 2,289 achievement points. 7.7 are the winners of the attendance league with 97.5%. Both forms will be enjoying a treat with their form tutors in Friday’s registration.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support at home. I wish everyone a peaceful and relaxing half term break. Please continue to check our website and social media feeds @StepneyAS for year group updates and further information.

Yours faithfully,

Samantha White

Head of Year 7
