Dear Parent/Guardian,

Swimming Pool and Changing Room Update

I am pleased to share with you that an update on the refurbishment of the school swimming pool, which is currently under way.  We have a provisional completion date of April 2022, following which we hope to be able to offer swimming pool access to all students, and to incorporate swimming lessons back in to the PE curriculum.  This should also mean that the refurbished changing rooms will also be re-opened in April 2022.

Uniform Update

Since our return in September, we have continued to operate the rule of blue in accordance with our Covid-19 restrictions. However there are still some students who arrive to school in the incorrect school uniform or PE kit. We will continue to check the uniform of students on arrival to school and during tutor time. Any student who comes to school dressed incorrectly, without an adequate reason, will be sent home to change, or will be given a detention.

From April 2022 once the changing rooms are re-opened we will revert to the school’s uniform policy for PE kit. We write to you now to prepare you for the changes that will be in place from April.

Due to the school name change and issues with uniform supply that have been experienced globally, we do not want parents to incur any additional costs. Therefore students and parents of current students will have two options;

  1. Students will arrive to school in their full school uniform, and use the changing rooms to change when having PE.
  2. Student feedback has been that students find it more comfortable to be ready for PE, and this also increases the time that they get to spend in PE lessons. With this is mind, on the days that students have PE lessons, they will be allowed to attend school in their school branded PE kit only (school branded tracksuit and PE T-Shirt), with their blazer on top. A picture example of the correct PE kit is shown below. The PE kit can be purchased directly from the school.

A reminder of the school PE kit is below. This can also be viewed on the school website – https://www.stepneyallsaints.school/for-parents/school-rules-and-information/uniformequipment-list/

The swim kit will also need to be worn when students have timetabled swimming lessons:

As previously mentioned, suppliers across the UK are experiencing issues with the supply of school uniforms. Although we have managed to distribute the majority of orders placed via parent pay, we are aware that there are still some students who have placed orders and have not received items. This is because we are still awaiting stock from suppliers. Please be assured, as soon as your child’s uniform items are delivered, we will distribute them to your child in school.

Yours sincerely,
